  • Chemo number 13 of 16 with Leila

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Today we didn't need to see the doc because he is away so I was scheduled to go straight to chemo at 11. Leila had expressed interest in coming a little while ago and mentioned it again yesterday, so I decided to bring her along. Mark's mum Lill was my official chauffeur for the day which was great ...

  • All better again.

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

I waited patiently until my doc came by (on Friday at lunchtime) and gave me the go ahead to leave. Had to wait another while for the nurses to unplug me, get antibiotics and my paperwork sorted. I was home by 3.30 and it was so so nice to see the kids who I hadn't seen for 2 nights. And they were s...

  • I got through the night

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

It is always a bit of a relief when the morning arrives when you're in hospital. It looks like it may rain today. I was quite cold going to sleep so had extra blankets, but then I woke drenched in sweat. Not sure if it was an extreme hot flush, or my temp or just my body expressing extreme dislike...

As I was doing my make-up this morning, I counted 11 eyebrow hairs on my left side and only 7 on my right side. Which eyebrow will be bald first? Stay tuned. Results may be less than a week away. It makes drawing eyebrows on quite tricky.

  • Happy birthday to me

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

The kids each gave me a cute card that they made for my birthday. I was very spoilt - Mark and the kids gave me a red iPod Nano which I can clip on when I go walking/running. At work the guys gave me a beautiful bouquet of white gladiolis and a yummy lime cheesecake. Leila wasn't too happy that I d...

  • Baldie Pic

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

This is one of the photos I received from Pamper Day. Prints donated by Woodside were posted to me - isn't that so kind? I like this one as a baldie and I think it will be good having it as a record.

  • Where am I at?

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

A few posts ago I mentioned my last appointment with the oncologist. I wanted to note more here so that I don't forget as it's all pretty confusing... One of the things I learnt from an appointment a few weeks ago with mum was that there are essentially four(ish) chemo concoctions that are availabl...

  • Moving on (Saturday)

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Had a bit of a funny week - had a bit of everything on this week. I'm feeling pretty well other than the ongoing tiredness. Probably because it was the end of the week I was exhausted yesterday evening and went to bed really early. My body ached and I felt very mentally and physically tired. Had my...
