Tired today. Walked along to the chemist this morning and then made some phone calls on the sofa. Had a good appetite for lunch then off to bed for a wonderful two hour sleep. Got up and parked on the sofa for a bit longer. Then dragged myself, pulled along strongly by Lucca, to the park. I walked f...

  • Third chemo

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Three down, one to go on the first half of my chemo treatment. Spent some quality time playing solitaire and doing a crossword on an iPad that a friend kindly lent me while waiting for my oncologist. 1-1/2 hours later we were in to see him. He is great - spent lots of time with us, particularly with...

Had another great session on Thursday at the Chemo Club - got on the rower, went in for Round 2 (very short bout of boxing) and did lots of great stretches. It feels so fantastic to be actively moving again - not just walking and stretching. Plan in trying to go as much as possible. Continuing to f...

Such a lovely group of people. The 2IC has also gone through breast cancer so she was a wealth of information and had s...

Dad came to chemo today to see what happens and where I spend hours playing crossword and solitaire on my iPad, eating bland hospital lunch, and flicking aimlessly through 100 tv channels, all of course while plugged in through my USB port. Today was one of the quickest chemo days - just all the an...

Number 3 of 12 treatment happening tomorrow. It's hopefully another smooth-sailing one like last week - fingers are crossed. Had a great week - physically and mentally felt strong. Also had a relaxing weekend at Kirup. Enjoyed cancer group today - disturbingly there are always a few new young faces...

Doc was very happy with my blood results today (bit of a helping hand this week from the white blood cell booster injection). Plan A for this week is to only have the IV anti nausea drugs - no drugs tomorrow. I have a plan B (haloperidol) and a Plan C (also add Kytril again) if I do feel nausea but ...

  • Blissful Fathers Day

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Fortunately (for Mark) I was feeling so much better today so I got up with the kids and we made Dad coffee and French toast with bacon to eat in bed for Fathers Day.It was a glorious day - blue sky, warm sun, week-old ducklings swimming at Hyde Park, tea at Tarts, banana smoothies, gardening, first ...
