  Hi everyone. My name is Kate. I was diagnosed with Early stage breast cancer only 3 weeks ago after a routine mamogram. Things are happening very quickly, almost frightengly so. I have DCIS with IDC, apparently very tiny but miotic activity is 'brisk' so that's taken me to a grade 3. Surgery is on the 9th December, lumpectomy and SNB, also having a breast reduction - I'm happy about that - one positive out of all of this I suppose. Have met with my breast nurse Donna who has allayed so many of my fears. I am feeling concerned but not overly stressed. I will worry about the things I 'know' I have to worry about. Would love to hear from any others in a similar situation as I don't want to be on this roller coaster ride by myself. Bye for now. Kate

  Hi Kate. I can only say, believe me, you are not alone! Although I have not had breast cancer myself, I have been involved with a few who have - including my sister (diagnosed with an advanced breast cancer and many lymph nodes involved) and a sister-in-law - diagnosed 12 yrs ago and I thought she would not survive but she is fine and doing very well.
  Great you had good support from the breast nurse - makes such a difference when you can get it all in perspective.

  Hi Kate. Wondering how things have been going since your surgery? Are you having chemo now? or just radiation? How are you finding it?
  I've recently joined the site as the 'click breast care nurse' and would love to have a chat. Also several new members have joined who've recently had surgery and just starting chemo, and are also looking for support. You're not alone, that's for sure.
