Hi there,
My mum has just been diagnosed with stage 3 c breast cancer. I have a couple of questions in relation to her diagnosis and I'm not sure where to direct my questions.
1. How is stage 4 detected? During the diagnosis process my mum has not been asked to do a blood test or MRI. My question is if the doctor hasn't reviewed her bloods or order more diagnostic tests how can they rule out stage 4?
2. The first step in her treatment is a mastectomy. Her next consultation is in 4 weeks. We are waiting for the appointment letter to come in the mail. She has to travel to Perth for the consultation (approx 600kms). We are unsure what the consultation is for and when the surgery will be scheduled. Is there somewhere I can contact to find out what will be involved in the next consultation?
Many thanks
Suzanne
