Glenys, what do bone mets feel like? For the past couple of years I've had pain in bed in my upper right thigh, at that area the anatomy diagrams call the Greater Trocantor (spelling ! ) It was always fine during the day and I had no trouble walking. In the last week or so it has changed to being fine at night but painful when I walk--- especially painful today. For the past 10 weeks I have been taking part in a research program into the role of resistance training in alleviating post-cancer fatigue. This has involved using a number of weight machines in a gym, and in the last week I have increased the leg weights . Have I been overdoing it, or am I just clutching at straws? Please help me---I'm scared witless.

Oh Muddy I'm so sorry you have this worry. Have you had a bone scan? Or an x-ray? Any tests at all? It's impossible to know the cause of this discomfort until investigated.
Aches in the leg/thigh may have several possible causes - the most common is due to the natural aging process causing deterioration of the joints in the hip or spine, which in turn may cause pressure on nerves extending down the leg. This may cause leg aches as you've described, particularly after exercise.
If you haven't already, please see your GP or Specialist and ask to have this assessed. Until you know for certain, you will continue to worry - possibly needlessly. Accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment are in order ...
