  Hello everyone. I am very new to this site and looking to network and get support as well as give support.

   

   

  I am at the six months mark after diagnosis on 26th May this year. Had my mastectomy in June, started and finished my chemotherapy - no radiation required, and now am almost at end of second week of 5 year course of Tomaxifen. 

   

   

  Going through more emotional problems right now than physical. Feeling very low from day to day and trying to get back to work, house work, and resting at the same time. If that is all possible.

   

   

  Look forward to networking with many of you, giving support and useful advice where and when I can, or asking for it when I need to.

  Hi Sandy
  It's very common for women to find the most challenging time emotionally is when the 'roller-coaster ride' of treatment slows down and the regular contact with your treating team drops right down (not to mention that you were usually caught up just getting to appts during treatment, etc which kept you busy).
  Then time comes for you to 'get on with your life...', pick up the pieces and somehow just move on ..
  It's often really important to get some help with that one! Seeing a Psychologist or Counsellor who specialises in the field can be tremendously helpful to provide useful tools to do that. Check with the Cancer Council for advice on local services, which often have little or no cost. Also could let you know about possible assistance with practical supports like housework, financial, etc.
  Some new members have recently joined the site who seem to be undergoing similar treatment to you. I'm sure they'd love to share stories and benefit from your experiences.

  Thanks for your support Glenys. I don't get here very often - hope to do that more now I am "back to normal". Just went through a bowel cancer scare as well that was benign - oddly enough - same month as breast cancer a year on.
  Anyway, getting back to the grind now and hope to have some time to chat here as well. :)

  Wonderful to hear things are picking up Sandy! Thank goodness all turned out benign with bowel cancer scare! - it's challenging enough reaching 'anniversary' time without that too.
  Your earlier comments about struggling to "get back to normal" are certainly experienced often and have been discussed in our chat sessions as well. Interestingly helena posted a similar comment in 'General Click Chats'!
