  • Hot head (Sunday)

Another weekend flies by. Does anyone know where to buy a large square cotton scarf? The hot weather is rather hellish in silk! We met the WW's at the beach this morning then had a very quiet afternoon. In my effort to produce yummy, healthy dinners in an enjoyable, not-stressful way, I made a quic...

  • Last Chemo

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Chemo is over. I will post more on what the doc said as far as further testing goes (too tired right now and it's far too late for me to still be awake). It was really quite strange saying goodbye to the chemo ward nurses - they have been absolutely wonderful but I hope I don't ever have to see them...

  • One to go

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Had my last blood test this morning. Followed by a blissful reflexology session at Solaris. After a few productive hours at work I left at 4pm to go for a walk. So I zipped home to change and went to Hyde Park. I went three times round including one lap running. Did some situps and used the arm gri...

Just spent a really wonderful weekend down south with the Block team minus two. The kids were with Lill for the weekend and I think they also had a great weekend. It was so nice having the time and headspace to sit and read, to cook, and to walk along hte beach. I wondered how many people can say th...

Well firstly, I will just put it out there that I am constipated. Those who know me quite well would know that this is old news - but this evening I had terrible cramps and my poor tummy is bloated. I haven't been taking the ol' Epson Salts as regularly because I'd been OK but I noticed as I went fo...

Forgot to draw eyebrows on this morning! The physio is happy with my cording - it seems to have gone again. She was mainly massaging the scar tissue under my arm to try to loosen it up. My back has felt fine since her massage on Monday but she worked on it again today and it's still actually very k...

  • Doc appt then one to go

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Today chemo went relatively smoothly with no major hold-ups. Mum and I ended up having quite a long meeting with the doc to try to understand what further tests I will be having and what recurrence actually means. I will write more about it later. I need to think about this some more and do some mo...

  • Physio and 2nd last chemo

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Over the weekend my back was sore. I went to the physio yesterday and the muscles in the middle of the back, that are hard to stretch, are feeling pretty tight. My physio said this is most likely from a combination of doing more rigorous exercise, the injection, the cording under my arm which may me...

  • Aching bones again

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

Another week has gone by so fast. I saw my physio on Wednesday about the cording under my arm. She worked on it for an hour - she basically massages the cords. My left shoulder had also been giving me some grief and she said that it had felt very tight so she massaged a few big knots out. It's all b...

  • General Status Update

Posted May 11, 2011 by tanya

I just posted an update of my chemo day today. In addition here is where I'm at: 1. In May had a lumpectomy and axillary clearance (removed all lymph nodes under my left arm) on left side. No cancer cells found in lymph nodes. 2. Had surgery to have a port "installed" on my right side high up on ...
