Welcome to the CLICK
Our online spaces are perfect for those who don’t want to talk face-to-face or on the phone. They’re easy to use, whether you want to join the discussion, read through the postings on our forum, instant message or come to one of our live chat sessions.
The Forum is available 24 hours a day and offer a chance to exchange information and connect with people who share similar experiences.
Posting on the Forum
Category
You need to find the right category to ask your question. For example, if you want to share your worries about drug side effects.
In the column on the left hand side of the page is a list of categories and the topics within them.
Some of the categories are: Breast Cancer Facts and Research; Member Terms and
Conditions and Treatment
Click on the Category e.g Treatment and look for a similar topic to yours
Topic
Find the topic you want. In this example, you would click on drug side effects and you will then see a page with the latest conversations on your chosen topic. If none of the topics are relevant to your situation you can pot a new topic
To post a new topic, look in the left hand corner of the page you should see "Post a new topic". Click this link.
You should now see an empty box. In the topic box write the topic for the post. Try to make the topic clear, so that people will know what the post is about when they see it in the list of latest posts.
When you've added the title of the topic, click in the big box below to start writing your post.
You might find it helpful to draft your post in a notepad in a PC or text edit in a Mac document and save it there before copying & pasting it into the box on the forum. If the site crashes or you lose Internet connection, you won't lose your post forever (because you'll still have a version saved in Word).
When you've finished writing your post, click the Post Topic button.
If you want to edit or delete your post, you can do this by clicking the links at the end of your post.
Messaging (email) (personal messages between members)

Type in the name of the other member (it may autofill their name for you so check you have the correct name) add a subject and your message and press send
Live Chat in Chat Room(s)
Live Chat in the main chat area in the chat rooms and allows you to interact in real time with many others, and in approximately 3 months time you will be able to ask questions of our health professional, who will be online at scheduled times. The schedule will be published on the website. Just remember once the chat finishes it is gone forever, so take notes or record the session for later reference.
Instant Messaging
Is the same as live chat except you can only chat to one person at a time. You will see at the bottom left of your page a box saying Friends Online. If one of your friends is on line you can click on their name and send them an instant message "How are you?" and they can reply (if they choose to) or ignore the message. These messages are also gone for good once you finish chatting.
Blog (weblog)
Is like an online diary where you can write how you feel about how breast cancer and how it has affected you and your family and life to date. As part of the support process we suggest you write for 15-20 minutes each day for three days after you join the CLICK. These periods of writing are called SWEEs on the CLICK this stands for structured written emotional expression.
Of course you are free to write about anything at all and you can also decide who can see your blog through the privacy setting you will see on the blog page.
Videos and Photos can also be added to your post and blogs by following the prompts.
