I'm Ness - Project Coordinator at Breast Cancer Care WA and the Purple Boot Brigade.
I first started on the Purple Boot Brigade about 4 years ago when I worked at Steel Blue and we had the chance to support the great work of Breast Cancer Care WA through donating money raised from the sales of purple Steel Blue work boots.
What a great opportunity this turned out to be! Working with such a great support organisation has given me the chance to make the difference to so many people affected by breast cancer and to help spread the BE BREAST AWARE message.
Since then I have moved to a part-time position here and worked with Edith Cowan University to set up the PhD research project that you are now all part of! I can't tell you how rewarding this all is and how excited I am to see this network coming together.
On a personal note, my family has been affected by breast cancer with my mother-in-law's diagnosis a few years ago. I am happy to say that her surgery and treatment has her now continuing to enjoy life breast cancer free - but we are all experiencing the ongoing conerns that this can cause.
I look forward to sharing my stories and learning from you all as we work together to support each other moving forward!
